Doom 3 reviewOverview

A massive demonic invasion has overwhelmed the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC) Mars Research Facility leaving only chaos and horror in its wake.

As one of only a few survivors, you struggle with shock and fear as you fight your way to hell and back, in an epic clash against pure evil.

Built on ID’s revolutionary new 3D graphics engine Doom 3 draws you into the most frightening and gripping 3D gaming experience ever created.

Review

Well…what can I say about this game. It’s a game from classic Doom series. Doom was one of the first FPS genre games, so it’s no surprise they continued the storyline and released this new game.

Doom 3D engine renders textures and monsters pretty nice. You will be jumping scared every couple of minutes in this game because there are lots of dark corners and monsters. I almost felt like I was standing in a dark room and somebody keeps on tapping me on my shoulder.

Now that’s all good I have to say about this game. As of now I uninstalled this game and it’s been sitting on my shelf for a while now.

Here is my reason I didn’t like it.  We have now Half Life, Half Life 2, Far Cry, Battlefield series, Return to Castle of Wolfenstein and all of these games will run to the max on my hardware and they have nice outdoor scenery.  And here is Doom game that actually asks for 512 mb video card to be able to crank it up to the max. What the heck???

The game is so …”thick” for the luck of words, that it will not run properly on your average computer and there is really no outdoor scenes because it will not be able to render it. I mean, I enjoy nice textures and shiny skins of monster like any other true gamer, but what were they thinking. How can they justify this kind of coding???

Don’t even start me on multiplayer option in this game. Originally they had none!!! None! Then they release patch that allowed 4 to 8 players to play it because anything more than that and it would bugle down internet and bring the end of the world as we know it…Yakes!!!

Anyway… if you like an eye candy waking from one small room to another room in complete darkness, then by all means, buy it but you will be bored pretty quick like I did.
