Overview

America's Army is one of the five most popular PC action games played online. It provides players with the most authentic military experience available, from exploring the development of Soldiers in individual and collective training to their deployment in simulated missions in the War on Terror. In America's Army: Special Forces, the follow-up to America's Army: Operations which was released on July 4, 2002, players attempt to earn Green Beret status by completing individual and collective training missions drawn from the Special Forces Assignment and Selection (SFAS) process.

Players who complete the SFAS process have the opportunity to take on elite Special Forces roles and are qualified to play in multiplayer missions with units ranging from the elite 82d Airborne Division to the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Review

Americas Army is the realistic army simulator fps game distributed by the U.S. Army. They are giving it away FREE! in hopes that some of you young gamers will find an interest in the Army. Well, they give you lots of things to blow up and obliterate to lure you in with this game!

If you want to hop right in and play multi-player…TOO BAD!! You’re doing it the Army’s way! Its boot camp for you boy! Access to certain servers depends on how much training you’ve had in the single-player boot camp simulators (among other things).Basic has an obstacle course, a rifle range, and a firing range for the big fun guns (nade launchers and such), and a shoot house to test your reflexes . I found this a little annoying but I’m impatient.

Over all it was kind of fun trying to get through the shoot house with a decent score! The firing ranges were fun as well and I thought the use of real drill sergeants to talk you through your training was a nice touch.

AA is very similar to Counter Strike and is a one spawn per mission type game. So you learn to be careful and move through the maps as a team. Taking cover and crawling your way to victory against the evil terrorists. The graphics are nice and the controls are easy to learn making this a great game for noobs and veteran gamers alike.

The game is well made and looks great. If you’re a team player you’ll do well with America’s Army. How can you go wrong? IT’S FREE!!
