Not sure how we missed this mod, but here it is. You should check it out, seems like lots of fun. We also will be posting videos of this mod.
Hit-and-Run Gameplay Iron Grip: The Oppression offers a unique gameplay that combines RTS (Real Time Strategy) and FPS (First Person shooter) in a completely new way. We’re focusing on generating an intense cooperative feeling by pitting a group of human players against superior numbers of AI opponents in the first ever real computer game guerilla warfare!
This setting has been seen in many books and films, but has yet to be effectively been portrayed in multiplayer computer games until now! One team consists of only 1 player who plays the role of a Rahmos City Legion Officer, burdened with the task to crush an insurgency which has started in one of the Rahmos cities.. He commands and creates AI controlled “minions” to flush out and destroy Resistance cells. The opposing team consists of a group of human players. Each player chooses a unique hero character. This team plays a full FPS game as they use hit-and-run tactics to create anarchy amongst the Rahmos forces. The goals are clear and the stage is set: Rahmos needs to conquer all the Resistance key locations and the Resistance must kill the Rahmos officer leading the attack. This will generate the required chaos needed for the Resistance to escape from the Rahmos City Legions! The first release of Iron Grip: The Oppression will solely feature this type of gameplay, but many more map specific types will emerge in later releases. The Rahmos City Legion These troops consist mainly of young men who are preparing for frontline duty. Despite their inexperience, the Rahmos City Legion has proven to be extremely versatile in urban combat, due to the strict and thorough training they receive. With more and more insurgencies throughout the cities, the burden is on these soldiers to restore order.
In Iron Grip: The Oppression this team is represented by only one player. The objective for this team is straight forward - construct armies to hunt down Resistance players and capture the control points. You have one Officer Unit who must survive the assault. This unit provides moral support to your troops as well as being the only one who can effectively capture a Resistance key location. The player can also switch to a First-Person view in which he or she directly controls the Officer. Without the Officer, it takes a much longer time to capture control points. If your Officer dies, you lose the match.
The Resistance The Resistance side consists of only human players who each choose a unique character with their own weapon set and abilities. These characters are a variety of male and female Resistance members who each have their own diverse background story. The Resistance must holdout, defending the key locations by using guerilla tactics. At the same time they must hunt down and kill the Officer leading the attack. When the officer is dead, the Resistance wins the round. Game Servers Official servers are available. These servers will promote teamplay amongst the Resistance team and give players a place to have a great experience with mature people! Main site link
