Finally! It’s about time someone developed a single player mod for HL2 that has balance and flow! I’m just going to come out and say it is by far the best HL2 single player mod out there.

Henley Bailey and Richard Acherki (Two Blokes)are the creators of Rock 24, and are both currently employed at Eidos Interactive as Mastering Engineer and Lead QA Technician. Rock 24 is their first project and first mod and they started off great!  

“After a disastrous rescue attempt to free Richard G Newell, a renowned rebel scientist, Dr. Gordon Freeman awakes to find himself locked in a holding cell on a mountainside prison facility dubbed 'Rock 24'. His new mission, locate and free the rebel scientist and escape the collapsing combine prison.”  

The mod is short (about 2 hours) but very well made. With a bit more production work, this mod could easily been a part Half life 2 story line. Some of the voice acting could have been better but hey I’m not complaining. A brand new environment to explore and a few puzzles break up the action, but not so much that it takes away from the game. The game flows well with plenty of meanies to kill and plenty of ammo and weapons to do the job. Unlike most other single player HL2 mods, I never felt overwhelmed or had to fight with a crowbar for a half hour because of lack of ammo.

 I hope to see more from Two Blokes. This mod was a very fun addition to my HL2 collection. Get you Rock 24 download here.
